Flight Instruction ...

... Learn to Soar in a Motorglider!

Adding a glider rating to your SEL or PPL. Cost for flight instruction is approximately $2000-2500 for a private add-on and $2500 for a commercial add-on. Or begin from scratch and learn to soar as your first flight skill if you are 14 years and older (Sky King Soaring flight school has teached students up to 80 years). No medical or driver license is necessary to learn to fly and operate a motorglider. This is particularly important to those who have lost their medicals or to those who don't qualify for a light sport rating. For all advantages of a motorglider compared to a light sport see our motorglider page.

In our aircraft -

The Diamond Xtreme motorglider charge is $109 per Hobbs or flight hour, and $50 per hour for flight instruction (or ground instruction).

Our flight school offers training at all levels - private, commercial, or flight instructor (CFIG).

Students from abroad - If you have no flight experience expect to spend up to $5000 for a private glider rating (PPL Glider) and up to $6000 for a commercial glider rating. COSTS MAY BE LESS if you have previous flight experience and are quite fluent in English. It is possible to learn to fly in our flight school and make a (motor-) glider license without a medical certification even if you are not an american resident!

Ferry charges to your location are $79 per hour...which is 1/2 the dual rate... from Payson, AZ.

In your aircraft -

In your motorglider, Sky King Soaring™ can fly with you for $60 per hour for flight instruction (or ground instruction), or $400 per day plus expenses at your location.
